In a dramatic finish to the RBS 6 Nations, either Wales or Ireland could have been tournament champions; however it was the Irish that kept their cool to claim their first Grand Slam in 61 years. The victory for Ireland meant that England climbed up the table to claim second spot, thanks to a strong finish. England convincingly beat France and Scotland at 'The Home of Rugby', Twickenham, to restore some national pride. Your next opportunity to see England in action is the forthcoming Investec Challenge throughout November, when they face Argentina, New Zealand and Fiji.
Investec Challenge - November 2009
All three of the teams England face during the Investec Challenge are ranked in the IRB's Top 10, New Zealand will provide the sternest test, but neither Argentina nor Fiji can't be taken lightly. England will need the fans to be in full voice to inspire, drive the team to victory and make Twickenham a fortress once again. Investec Challenge fixtures:
England v Argentina, 14 November
England v New Zealand, 21 November
England v Fiji, 28 November
Domestic Rugby
The end of the RBS 6 Nations, signals the climax to the domestic season, with clubs across Europe pushing for strong finishes. Gloucester and Cardiff Blues have already booked their places in the first cup final of the season, the EDF Energy Cup Final on 18 April. It is the fourth consecutive year that the final has been an Anglo-Welsh affair. Can Cardiff Blues ensure that the bragging rights stay with the Welsh or will Gloucester reign supreme on the day? In the Guinness Premiership there are a number of teams still vying to finish in the top four, securing a play-off place and Heineken Cup spot. Can Leicester, current league leaders, overturn the heart break of the 2008 Final and be crowned champions? Be there for both these finals with hospitality available throughout Twickenham Stadium. |

| Wish you were at the John Smith's Grand National? |
 |
The magic returned to the Grand National this weekend when Mon Mome became the first 100-1 shot to win the race since 1967. In another captivating race, there were a number of horses in contention at the last fence but there was only going to be one winner as Mon Mome pulled clear of the chasing pack to a 12-length victory. The favourite, Butler’s Cabin, ended up finishing the race in seventh, meaning jockey Tony McCoy is still waiting for his first Grand National victory. Did you get lucky on Saturday? If so, why not reserve your place for the Grand National in 2010 and enjoy all the excitement first-hand with the finest Aintree hospitality. |

Despite the threat of the West Indies boycotting the final One Day International in St Lucia, the match went ahead in a winner takes all clash. The England team endured a tough and tense time in the Caribbean, losing the Test Series 1-0 to the West Indies. The fifth One Day International was England’s last chance to leave the tour on a high. In another tough match, it was Andrew Flintoff that proved the difference as his hat-trick of wickets helped seal the win. England’s 26-run victory will boost confidence within the squad ahead of the first Test Match in May at ‘The Home of Cricket’ Lord’s. There are a limited number of spaces available for this Test Match, so contact us today for more information. |
