"Captain" Chris Woods

As some of you will already be aware, Thales Channel Manager, Chris Woods, recently achieved a long held ambition of competing in the ARC Trans-Atlantic Rally.

The ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) is now the largest transoceanic sailing event in the world. Starting in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and ending in Rodney Bay, St Lucia the ARC brings together 200 yachts from around the world. The journey totals 2700 miles and takes between 14 and 21 days.

Chris was aboard a 72 foot Global Challenge yacht with 15 other crew members, including a professional skipper and mate. They came in a very creditable 9th place after 16 days at sea.
